What happens during the initial appointment? do you run tests, how do you treat patients?

A typical first visit with an ND lasts 90 minutes and includes taking a relevant health history, conducting an appropriate examination, and making treatment recommendations. It may include gathering information such as laboratory test results, medical records, a diet diary, and other information. Follow-up visits usually last 45-60 minutes depending on the health issues being addressed, therapies being utilized, and other treatment goals. Please note that the charge for the initial appointment does NOT cover any laboratory fees or nutritional supplements.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept any commercial insurance at Bay Natural Medicine. The state of California does not allow for NDs to be contracted with insurance companies. We can provide you with a superbill after your visit. Many of our patients submit these superbills to their insurance companies for reimbursement. Depending on your insurance you may be partially reimbursed, entirely reimbursed, or not reimbursed at all. This is dependent on your insurance policy. Our patients do have the option to pay through their HSA or FSA accounts in the office.

Do you take Cancer patients?

We do not provide care for cancer patients, children under 18 years of age, Lyme disease, or acute conditions that are best treated in the Emergency Room or Urgent Care.

Skin Conditions, Hormones (thyroid, Menopausal) Bio-Identical Hormones. Low energy, Fatigue, Digestive Issues, Auto-immune disease, and pain ( primarily for acupuncture)

How frequently can I have a follow-up appointment?

Follow-up visits vary for each individual. It is important to follow up for the best results.

Are you able to take patients outside of California?

No. Dr. Yoon is Licensed to practice medicine in the State of California.

Dr. Minna Yoon, ND, L.Ac. has over 20 years of clinical experience. She has been in San Francisco since 2007 and has been at her current location in the Inner Sunset since 2008.
Before San Francisco, she had been working in Illinois and Indiana.
